How Long Will My Dentist Appointment Take?

Everyone has different dental needs, and is in our office for a unique reason, so the length of your visit will vary depending on what you’re visiting for. If you’re just in for a routine cleaning, exam, or consultation your appointment will most likely take somewhere around an hour. Periodontal cleanings and other more complex services will last longer, although the length still varies, treatment to treatment, patient to patient.

With that said, however, we do understand that life can be busy, and that having at least a decent idea of how long your visit will be can be incredibly helpful. Dr. Williamson made me feel very confident from the moment we discussed my problem. I felt his concern for my issues were genuine. After 2 bad experiences with my previous dentist I decided to make an appointment for a second opinion on a partial plate that my previous dentist had made for me. It was very uncomfortable and ill-fitting. Dr. Williamson did some work on it which made a difference. He took time talking with me discussing my issues and reassuring me. He did not turn me over to a tech to handle the adjustment. I can highly recommend Dr. Williamson. All of his staff were warm and friendly. Everyone made me feel welcome. Been entirely too long since I’ve been to a dentist due to a past experience with a horrible dentist and office. Made me not want to be near a dentist at all. Today’s visit was incredible. The tech I worked with listened to my plea of anxiety but made me feel very comfortable and at ease. We did X-rays and spoke between images as needed. Once the imaging was done she said she would get the dentist to go over the images and my teeth. We have determined I’ll need multiple cleanings as well as a filling for a cavity. But the staff and environment were so incredible that I felt so comfortable and at ease with the entire staff and facility. Beautiful facility with incredible staff. If you’ve ever had a bad experience at another place, this one will surely change that outlook completely

Very, very nice staff. I had nurse Kenzie helping me out with my teeth cleaning, and I highly recommend her. I struggled with keeping up with taking care of my physical health and teeth being one of them. Now that I am pregnant, I have had struggles regarding keeping my teeth and gums. Prior to establishing Williamson Dental as our new dentist, I cracked a tooth about six months ago and needed immediate attention. Dr. Williamson and the entire staff were excellent in resolving my uncomfortable situation rapidly. Cracked tooth resolved without issue or repeat visits!

This was my first visit to the new office in Columbia, IL. I had been a patient of Dr. Raney's for over 30 years. Happy for him, to have retired, but sad for me, as I don't change doctors when I find a good one. Well, I've now had an appointment with both Dr. Williamson and Dr. Haarmann, and happy to say, "Dr. Raney, the practice is in good hands!" Lovely new office and some new staff, all so pleasant and great service. Emily S was my hygienist at the most recent appointment. She was great.

Had my 6 month cleaning with a good eval. This is after a long ordeal with 2 abscesses which resulted in needing to have two back teeth extracted. Williamson Dental has been GREAT. They took care of me immediately and then referred me to an oral surgeon who did extractions and started the implant process. After the implant, Williamson Dental got me in right away to scan for the process of making two teeth which were ready two weeks later and now I am back to "normal". Thanks soooo much. I can eat again on the right side of my mouth?
Not sure if this got posted but had my next 6 month checkup. Staff friendly and efficient. Love this dental staff.

My husband had a temporary crown done this week and the tooth became abscessed a couple days later. Dr Haarmann was able to quickly prescribe antibiotics yet the tooth still needed a root canal asap. Dr Williamson spoke to him and triaged the situation Immediately. The root canal was scheduled and started by Dr. Williamson within an hour. We were both beyond pleased. Thanks so much for the personal and expedited procedure. 6 out of 5 stars for both Dr. Williamson and Robin who did a phenomenal job assisting.

The staff here could give the Swiss Railway a run for their money with their punctuality; they’re so on time, you’d think they have an internal clock set by the atomic clock in Colorado. Now, as for the dentist, his skills remain as mysterious to me as the Bermuda Triangle. Thanks to the superhero-level care I’ve received from the hygienist, my teeth are in such pristine condition that I’ve yet to experience the joy, or terror, of having the dentist poke around my mouth with his arsenal of tools. It’s a strange kind of disappointment, like buying a ticket to a monster truck rally and finding out it’s been replaced by a silent meditation retreat.

We switched to Williamson dental years ago and I couldn't be more pleased with this dental office. Not only is every staff member kind and so patient, but they make you feel incredibly comfortable the moment you walk in the doors or call them. This coming from an adult with severe anxiety when it comes to dental work. They are wonderful with adults but when it comes to kids, there is no one else I would trust with my babies teeth. All three of my kiddos have seen Dr. Nathan and his fantastic staff since they were able to sit with me for my cleanings. My hygienist, Alexa, was awesome. It's her "fault" that my teeth feel so clean and polished. Everyone seems happy in this office; lots of smiling. New lobby furniture is very comfortable. I've been examined by all the docs, and they all have excellent chair-side manner. The staff takes notes on each visit on a personal level; this makes one feel comfortable when they call you by your nickname, and ask questions about you like you were just there yesterday, but it was (likely) 6 months ago. We come all the way from the car side of Carlyle Lake (a 1.5-hour drive) just to be seen by this top-notch team. Highly recommend!

Best staff and dentists I've ever done business with. They are always kind and attentive. I've never felt any judgment and they've never caused me any pain. They have reasonable hours and always get me in when necessary.

I chose this place because of great reviews and was not let down. The office is beautiful, calming and spacious - the lobby AND the individual patient rooms are very relaxing. Every single staff member was so kind. Emily the dental technician explained every part of the process to me and talked to me to help with my anxiety surrounding dental health. Looking forward to my future cleaning appointments here as I know I'll be taken care of.
